Harmony Tea Kettles Recalled Due to Burn Hazard

Name of product: Copco Harmony Tea Kettles
Units: About 5,500
Distributer: Wilton Industries, Inc. of Woodridge, Illinois USA
Hazard: The lid on the tea kettle can come loose during handling, posing a burn hazard to the
consumer.
Incidents/Injuries: The firm is aware of 25 incidents of the lid coming loose in the United States. Second-degree bums to hands and fingers have been reported. No incidents have been reported in Canada.
Description: This recall involves the Copco Harmony tea kettles. The kettles come in stainless
steel brushed and polished finishes and enamel finishes in red, white, black, turquoise, orange,
yellow and blue. Copco tea kettles in other styles are not included in the recall.
Sold by: Retailers nationwide from March 2006 through June 2009
Manufactured in: China and Thailand
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using these tea kettles. If the consumer has a
stainless tea kettle, contact Wilton Industries Canada for a free replacement lid. If the consumer has an enamel tea kettle, contact Wilton Industries Canada for a free replacement tea kettle or a refund.
